EV Fest 2013 Volunteers

This year I am using our ticketing site to list the variety of volunteer positions. I would like to offer 3 positions of leadership: Morning Lead, Afternoon Lead, and Volunteer Chief.

The Volunteer Shifts on the day of the Event - September 22, 2013, are in 4 basic shifts of 3.5 hours each, with 30 minutes to overlap between the following shifts coming in and the preceding shift, except the first shift only overlaps at the end, and the last shift only overlaps at the beginning*. (See *If you volunteer at bottom)

Shift 1 runs from 06:30 A.M. until 10:00 AM. You will be helping Exhibitors get loaded in, set up Guest Registration Tables, and other tasks.
Shift 2 runs from 09:30 A.M. until 1:00 PM. You will be helping finalize any exhibitors load in, and the last minute touches on Guest Registration Setup, followed by working Guest Check-in, and general assistance, directions to washrooms, etc.
Shift 3 runs from 12:30 P.M. until 4:00 PM. You will be helping with Guest Check-in, answering general Event and Location Questions, offering assistance with perimeter control and monitoring
Shift 4 runs from 3:30 P.M. until 7:00 PM. Max. You will be involved with General Event and Security assistance as perimeter Monitoring, Guest Check in until Close of Event at 5:00 P.M., and assisting with Orderly and Safe Exhibitor Exit.

Special Assignments for EV Fest 2013 will include Morning Marshalling to bring in Exhibitors in order, as space my be tight and maneuvering limited; Parking Guidance to Arriving Guests; Guest Entrance and Ticketing, Assistance with Online Ticket Registration via Smart Phones, Tablets, etc. during the Show day; Directing Guests, Volunteers, and Exhibitors to local Businesses for Food, Snacks, or Meals; Directing Volunteer Photographers to areas of Action, Crowds, or other active Excitement during the show. These are the basic Volunteer Shifts, which are to be supported by The Morning Lead, Afternoon Lead, and Chief. Please contact us at evfest@evfest.ca or at volunteer@evfest.ca for any questions on this.

The Morning Lead Arrives early - to prepare things for the Volunteer Shifts.
Morning Lead runs from 06:00 A.M. until 1:30 PM.
(7.5 hours)

Afternoon Lead overlaps with Morning Lead, and stays late to close the show. Afternoon Lead runs from 12:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M.
(7.5 hours Max)

The Final Position of Volunteers for the day - Volunteer Chief, is a Full Day position, to make sure the leads and Volunteers have what they need to do their jobs, assists them to get on track, and help out directly if needed.
Volunteer Chief runs from 06:00 A.M. until Max 7:30 P.M.
(13.5 hours Max)

Other Volunteer Options include - Goodwill Ambassadors, General Help [Morning or Afternoon], Photographers/Videographers, and more.

Goodwill Ambassadors may be assigned tasks varying from helping Ride & Drive Events, Greeting people coming to register and directing them to the cash tickets table or prepaid check in table, handing out promotion post cards in the parking lot during EV Fest 2013. Time Commitment Varies, and is your choice on check in.

General Help, Morning: 8:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. - as required to move and set up tables, set up banners, assist exhibitors as needed, assist with Load-in as required, set up guest check in tables, and or tents, direct people to various facilities on site (need to know and be ware of Brick Works Facilities), and assist any other volunteer needing help.

General Help, Afternoon: 3:00 P.M. - 6:30 P.M - as required to direct people to check in tables, General Facilities knowledge and ability to direct guests on site, assist with end of day close up at guest checking - with Tent or Table removals and stacking, assisting exhibitors with close up, and strike as required, clearing exit points for exhibitors to leave and safety control of vehicle movements leaving.

Volunteer Photographers/Videographers:
Coverage desired from 06:00 - 19:00
 
Photographers - interested in Photographing Behind the Scenes, General Environment and Surroundings, Crowd and Lineup scenes, Exhibitor Vehicles before and with Crowds by them; Video, Panoramic, Flash and Natural Light aspect to be considered; Copies of images to be submitted within 5 Days after EV Fest 2012 (September 27th, 2013, by Digital file on CD, DVD, or USB Drive for copying from). Photographers on site for over 5 hours will be eligible for a Meal Credit or Bag Lunch.

Some Additional opportunities exist in the following positions: Educational Institution Show Promoter, Manufacturing Show Promoter, Hotel and Motel Show Promoter, Grocery Store Show Promoter, Gas Pump Customer Show Promoter, Union Local Show Promoters, Political Show Promoter, Professional Association Show Promoter, Cultural Group Show Promoter, Database Marketing Promoter.

Also Needed are Skills for: Graphic Design (Poster Creation); Social Marketing.

*Other News and Benefits of Volunteer Lead and Volunteer Chief:
1 Meal will be paid for each Volunteer Lead, up to $10.00.
2 meals up to $10.00 each will be paid to the Volunteer Chief.
Either paid by me, or via a Coupon Voucher, or Bag Lunch option.
